Public Works…Québec Style

Welcome to your site. The Association des travaux publics d'Amérique-chapitre du Québec (ATPA) is one of the 67 chapters of the American Public Works Association (APWA) with a diversified membership of more than 28,000 and a reputation for quality services and products. Organized within nine regions, APWA's chapters are located throughout North America and serve virtually every metropolitan area, state, province and region on the continent. The Quebec chapter is part of the Region I along with the Atlantic Provinces, Maine, New England and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Founded in 1967, the Quebec chapter grew to become one of the most dynamic chapters in North America with its 300 members coming from public agencies and private sector companies and include individuals dedicated to providing high quality public works goods and services.

With its headquarters located in Montreal, the Quebec chapter provides a forum for all the regions of the province in which public works professionals can exchange ideas, improve professional competency, increase the performance of their agencies and companies, and bring important public works-related topics to public attention.

The content of this site is only in French. Here is a chance for you to pay a visit to a part of North America where we do things just a bit…différemment!

In 2003, we celebrated the 10th anniversary of the PublicAction, the newsletter that was so important for the Association through all those years to keep its members informed about the Quebec Chapter's activities. We would like to thank the APWA for its support, all the members, the suppliers and the sponsors who made this newsletter what it became today.

For a few years, the Quebec chapter's members also received a magazine published by the APWA that included the translation of selected articles from the Reporter. Five years ago, the PublicAction was revamped and integrated those articles. The ATPA would also like to thank Mr Donald Lord who was in charge of the translation. The PublicAction changed over the years but its mission stayed the same: offer the best information possible to insure that public works departments are contributing to the quality of life of their community.
